Standing Water in Basement Caused by Burst Pipe

SERVPRO of Southwest Waukesha was called out to a water loss late on a Friday night, where water damage was discovered in a vacant home. Once SERVPRO arrived onsite, we assessed the loss and discovered that the cause of the water loss was a burst pipe on a second level. Due to the home being vacant at this time, the water continued to migrate down to the basement where it accumulated to six inches deep.

SERVPRO immediately assessed safety concerns upon arrival. Being aware of potential safety hazards is critical when our technicians arrive to mitigate a water loss. As the home was scoped, SERVPRO identified the main water line and was able to shut it off. This stopped water from continuing to leak and extraction was started.
